This 132-hour class prepares the EMT student to provide pre-hospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Students who successfully complete this class will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians EMT certification examination.
The first night of class is a mandatory face-to-face orientation held at the NICC Calmar campus from 6:00-10:00 pm.

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) offers 1 free simulation session in our Emergency Medical Services Simulation Lab ($600 value) to any service
funding EMR/EMT/AEMT classes for 3 students who successfully complete the class. One offer per service.
Video Conferencing Class Notice:
This class is conducted face-to-face in Calmar, and via video conferencing at the NICC Centers in Cresco, Elkader (Keystone AEA), Manchester, Oelwein, and Waukon.
