2026 Residential Code Changes-Online

This 2-hour course covers the significant changes in the latest edition of the NEC that pertain to residential wiring. This includes: new rules for calculating branch circuits, new GFCI and AFCI requirements; new rules for receptacle locations and lighting control; service and emergency disconnect marking; grounding and bonding; general and specific requirements for wiring methods and materials; new rules for switches, wiring devices, appliances and AC equipment. In addition, if time allows, certain changes in Chapters 5, 6, and 7 that could affect some dwelling installations will be covered. This session will be offered via the Zoom online platform so the student will need a computer with camera and microphone to attend. This class meets Iowa Electrical Examining Board (IEEB) for two hours of continuing education for the December 2028 renewal deadline.In accordance with the IEEB, all specified hours of a class must be attended to receive any credit for the class, partial credit will not be awarded.
