Please read:  Prerequisite: at least 1 year experience as a Dental Assistant, or be DANB certified. Students enrolled in an Expanded Functions class are given one year from their registration date to complete the assigned readings, evaluation measures and clinical skills. Each of the sections is completely self-study. The learner will work under the supervision of their employer and sign a contract for acknowledgement of understanding. Also, there are competencies that must be signed by both the learner and the employer. Students can choose the skills that they want to complete in this section. A post-test will be required at the completion of the course. A minimum grade of 75% is needed to pass the course. Section 1: • Applying Liners and Bases • Applying Desensitizing Agents • Applying Bonding Agents • Placement and Removal of Dry Socket Medication • Placement of Periodontal Dressing • Testing Pulp Vitality
