Students required to enroll in the Driver Improvement Program (DIP) course receive a letter from the Iowa DOT. The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is authorized to suspend the driving privileges of anyone who is a habitual violator (Iowa Code Section 321.210 and DOT Administrative Rules Procedure 615.43) or commits a serious violation. Failure to respond to the letter or successfully complete the Driver Improvement course will result in suspension of your driver’s license. If you have a question on your driving record, please call Driver & Identification Services at 515-244-9124 or 515-244-8725. To register for DIP, call NICC at 844-642-2338 ext. 1340 or 1399 and pay by credit card or mail payment (check payable to NICC) along with the registration form included with your letter. Pre-paid registrations only, no walk-in or late arrivals will be admitted. Please bring a photo ID with you to class – a driver’s license will be sufficient The Iowa DOT has approved the option to offer the class remotely through zoom, so we ask all participants to following these guidelines during the class: The following items will be required: • Webcam • Personal computer or laptop • Active email account • Internet access Be mindful of background noise. Mute your microphone. To help keep background noise to a minimum, make sure you mute your microphone when you are not speaking. Position your camera properly. The instructor will need to see you during the entire course. Limit distractions. Go to a quiet area with no TV, cell phone or other distractions. Avoid multi-tasking. Do not watch TV or play games during the class. Enter your full name for the screen name. After successfully completing the course, your completion will be submitted to the Iowa DOT and a certificate will be mailed to you within one week
