The Nurse Aide Knowledge Exam is the computer-based portion of the CNA State Exam process. The test is multiple choice, competency based, and you have up to two hours to complete. A score of 70% or greater is required to be successful and to be eligible for the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry.  Registry placement in Iowa also requires a 70% or greater on the CNA State Skills Exam. Both tests are required and taken separately. Accommodations for any disabilities must be requested at the time of registration, and a process must be followed.

Notice

Please read:  This computerized exam is proctored on the Calmar campus. Testing candidates should arrive 15 minutes early for this exam to allow time for parking and check-in. All testing candidates must bring a current photo ID (ex. driver's license, student photo ID, or passport) as well as have their full social security number memorized. Students are eligible to take both the Skills and Knowledge Exams on the same day, provided seats are available. Testing times are subject to change, and any changes will be communicated.
