MANDATORY ORIENTATION: Monday, December 22nd, 2025 at NICC Oelwein Center.
BOOKS: Included in the class fees and provided at orientation.
ATTENDANCE: Per federal and state regulations, students must attend 75 total hours (not including scheduled breaks) in order to receive a certificate of completion for a 75-Hr Certified Nurse Aide training. Instructors will not make-up time with students if a student is absent from any component of the class.
COMPLIANCE: Students will complete a background check release at orientation before the first day. Students must know or bring their full SSN with them to complete this. Students will be required to submit Baseline TB Tests (2-Step TB Screening), Flu Shot (after October 1st) and COVID-19 (most recent booster) or signed Declination Waiver after the class starts. For compliance questions prior to orientation, please contact the Compliance Coordinator at NICC by calling 844-642-2338, ext. 2346.
CLINICAL: Students are eligible to attend clinical by passing the background check, completing compliance requirements and successfully passing the Lab portion of the class (demonstrating competency and completion of all skills in a laboratory setting with an NICC instructor). Students must attain and wear navy blue scrubs and a watch with a second hand for their clinical uniforms.
COMPLETION: Proof of completion certificate will be provided for successful completion of the full training. Students must achieve a 78% GPA or higher and 100% attendance of the 75-hour training, which is held in online lecture, in-person labs and in-person clinicals. If a student is unsuccessful or does not formally withdraw or cancel from the class, a final grade given will be an F and no certificate will be awarded.
REFUND: Students may receive a refund if they cancel registration from the class 5 business days prior to the first day/mandatory orientation.
