The Nurse Aide State Skills Exam evaluates the ability to perform essential hands-on care through a realistic nurse aide assignment. To be placed on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% on BOTH the skills and knowledge exams.

Notice

Please read:  This skills competency exam is completed by 1:1 evaluation, at the Town Clock Center in downtown Dubuque. Please arrive at your scheduled testing time, allowing time for parking. Testing will begin promptly, and late arrivals may not be accommodated. Students need to bring a current photo ID, such as a driver's license, student photo ID, or passport as well as recite their full social security number. Students should be prepared for hand-on demonstrations, wearing professional attire/scrubs (including a watch with a second hand).
