The Nurse Aide State Skills Exam evaluates the ability to perform essential hands-on care through a realistic nurse aide assignment. To be placed on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 70% on BOTH the skills and knowledge exams.

Notice

Please read:  This skills competency exam is completed by 1:1 evaluation, at the Calmar Campus. Please arrive at your scheduled testing time, allowing time for parking. Testing will begin promptly, and late arrivals may not be accommodated. Students need to bring a current photo ID, such as a driver's license, student photo ID, or passport as well as recite their full social security number. Students should be prepared for hand-on demonstrations, wearing professional attire/scrubs (including a watch with a second hand).
