This 32-hour class is offered as a stand-alone certificate or as one of 4 modules in the Manufacturing Skills Standard Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) program. Students learn use of common measurement systems and precision measurement tools, and the fundamentals of blueprint reading. A comprehensive introduction to modern manufacturing quality practices includes checking instrument calibrations, inspecting materials and product, and taking corrective actions. In addition, students learn to conduct audits, document and communicate quality tests and problems, identify trends and suggest continuous improvements. Third party certification from the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) is awarded upon successful completion of the class and certification exam. This class is part of a unique program designed to prepare workers for high-demand manufacturing jobs.
