Garden Art: Making a Leaf Casting

ID : 69930
« back to classes page
Leaf casting – the use of real foliage as a concrete mold – is a creative process that captures the organic beauty of nature in a durable piece of art for your yard or garden.  In addition to its attractiveness, when filled with water, a cast leaf basin attracts birds and other wildlife.  During the first session, students will choose from a variety of leaf types and pour their castings to dry and cure until the second session.  The following week the cast basins are revealed and students paint them for outdoor use. A supply fee of $30.00 is due to the instructor at the first session.
