Due to Covid 19, the Iowa DOT is temporarily allowing students to attend the classroom portion of High School Driver's Education course in person via remote access.
For the NICC course, the following technology will be required:
Personal computer, I-pad or laptop (all with webcam access)
Active email account (school district email account may not be used)
Cell phone with text messaging
Registration will be open for Allamakee Community School District students prior to start of class on a first come-first served basis. Student’s and/or parents will register and pay with NICC staff members by calling 844-642-2338, ext. 6700 or in person at the Waukon Center or Calmar, Wilder Business Center. Contact Waukon High School for free/reduced tuition waiver information. If the course is full, students can request NICC staff members to place them on the waiting list. If openings are still available three weeks prior to the start of class, NICC will allow public registrations. You must have a valid driver's permit before class begins.
Attendance is required for all classroom and behind-the-wheel (to be scheduled) sessions.
After you have completed the registration process, please notify the Disability Services Office at 844.642.2338 ext.1258 (Calmar) or 2280 (Peosta) of any academic, medical or physical accommodations necessary for the student during this course.
