Driver Education is designed to help novice drivers develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become safe, low-risk, responsible drivers. To satisfy the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, students must attend and successfully complete 30 hours of classroom instruction and six hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) driving experience.

Please read:  Registration will be open for students prior to start of class on a first come-first served basis. Students and/or parents will register and pay with NICC staff members by calling 844-642-2338, ext. 1399 or in person at a NICC Center location. If the course is full, students can request NICC staff members to place them on the waiting list. You must have a valid driver's permit before class begins. Attendance is required for all classroom and behind-the-wheel (to be scheduled) sessions. Please choose class dates/times that do not interfere with other activities. After you have completed the registration process, please notify the Disability Services Office at 844.642.2338 ext.1258 (Calmar) or 2280 (Peosta) of any academic, medical or physical accommodations necessary for the student during this course.
