This 20-Hr Medication Manager course is designed to prepare individuals to safely administer or supervise self-administration of non-parenteral medications in a 15 bed or less residential program, child care program, supervised apartment living, or community-based living program. The course includes lecture and classroom clinical experience as well as a state test for certification.

Notice

Please read:  Students may only be registered in this course by their employer/sponsoring facility. This district-wide, Hybrid Medication Manager course provides 20 hours of instruction. The lecture components are offered online prior to a scheduled 1 day lab session and testing held at NICC. On-site dates for clinical and testing are offered in two campus locations: Calmar and/or Dubuque. Students must complete all of the online components, 3 hours of lab and pass the final exam (80% or above) in order to earn a 20-Hr Medication Manager certificate. There are no textbooks provided in this course, the curriculum will be covered online. Each student registered in a Hybrid course is responsible for their own internet access and computer capability. Using a cell phone to take this course is not recommended.100% attendance is required.
