Trainers | Barb Otting is the Director of the NAMI Dubuque Family Education and Support Group programs. She is a trained facilitator of the Dubuque NAMI Family to Family Education and NAMI Dubuque Family Support Group courses. A Registered Nurse with 47 years of experience for MercyOne in Dubuque, Iowa, Barb has lived experience with loved ones in her life who have mental health/brain health conditions. She offers family members hope and support just as NAMI offered support to her when she needed it most. Rachel Callahan is a trained facilitator of the NAMI Dubuque Family Education and NAMI Support Group programs. She is also a trained facilitator of Ending the Silence and a partnered facilitator in NAMI Basics. She has served NAMI Dubuque for one year and continues to play a large role in helping families and their loved ones. Rachel has worked as a medical assistant, certified childcare provider and paraprofessional and has many years of lived experience with young children and adults in her life who have mental health/brain health issues. Rachel is passionate about her work with NAMI Dubuque and helping people know that they are not alone in their journey. A native of western Iowa, Rachel has lived in Cascade, Iowa, for the past 20 years. She has three fun and energetic boys and one truly supportive goldendoodle, Javy, a certified emotional support animal. Lunch will be provided.
