Registration is open for North Fayette Valley Community School District students on a first come-first served basis. Students and/or parents will register and pay with NICC staff members by calling 844-642-2338, ext. 1399 or in person at a NICC Center. Contact North Fayette Valley Community School District for free/reduced tuition waiver information. If the course is full, students can request NICC staff members to place them on the waiting list. If openings are still available 4 weeks prior to the start of class, NICC will allow public registrations. Class will be held at North Fayette Valley High school in the ICN room #362.
****This is an in-person course with additional assignments done outside the classroom using an online platform (Brightspace).
Students must be 14 years of age, provide proof of a valid driver's permit before class, and maintain a valid permit throughout the course. Students are required to notify the college if their driver's permit is suspended or revoked. Attendance is required for 30 hours of classroom, 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observation. Times listed are class times only. A driving schedule will be established with the instructor, driving lessons may extend beyond the classroom dates and may be on any day/night of the week and/or weekends. Be ready to drive and have your permit with you on the first day of class and all driving lessons.
Brightspace, Learning Management System, will be utilized for the course. Log-in information will be emailed within one week prior to the start date. The email address in the student account need to be accessible to the student. Please call 844-642-2338, ext. 1399 if you need to update the email address for this account.
Device Requirements
Any computer, mobile device or tablet that is capable of running the latest version of the Supported Browsers (Newest versions of Google Chrome or Firefox, and Microsoft Edge are the supported browsers. Internet Explorer is no longer supported.) can navigate the Brightspace platform. A fast internet connection is encouraged for best results. If your course has a Zoom component, your device also needs a functioning webcam and microphone.
