This class is a Hybrid format for students who are motivated to learn theory online. The lab and clinical are in-person.
MANDATORY ORIENTATION: Monday, April 8th, 2024, 9:00 AM at NICC Waukon Center.
BOOKS: Included in the class fees (will be provided at mandatory orientation).
ATTENDANCE: Per state regulations, students must attend 76 total hours, not including scheduled breaks (30 lecture, 16 lab, 30 clinical) in order to pass the class. Instructors will not make-up time with students if a student is absent.
COMPLIANCE: Students must complete a background check and submit required documentation: 2-Step TB Test, Flu vaccine (during flu season) and COVID-19 vaccine or exemption for approval. For questions regarding compliance, contact NICC at 844-642-2338, ext. 2346.
CLINICAL UNIFORM: Students must wear navy blue scrubs and a watch with a second hand.
CERTIFICATION: Students must achieve a 78% GPA or higher and 100% attendance. If a student is unsuccessful or does not formally withdraw or cancel from the class, the final grade given will be an F and no certificate is awarded. Students may take the Nurse Aide state test at NICC for placement on the Direct Care Worker Registry by registering for the Written and Skills tests.
REFUND: Refund is provided to students who cancel 5 business days prior to the class start.
